11/07/2005: "First Blog: Unofficial Opening"

Dear Friends and colleagues, welcome to my blog. Although not entirely there yet (still loads of work to do, broken links etc) i decided to let people know of its existence, as it will give me an incentive to finish off any remaining work sooner rather than later.

The reason for doing this, is primarily to disseminate my work faster and also to keep in touch with colleagues and friends more regularly. In this space i will post about the progress of my work, papers or technical reports that i write, news from NCL as well as non-work related items.

If you are wondering about the technicalities of blogging I should tell you that i personally customised some code i found on the web and i am hosting the blog myself. There are however blogger systems that can host your blog if you dont want to go down the route of doing it yourself. Some of the links as you will notice don't work, as this is still work in progress. Needless to say that for any Private information or requests you should still use my email. HTML entries are accepted. Obsenities are automatically censored although they are welcome via other avenues.

I will try to post every 2-3 days max.
