11/16/2005: "Last week's event"

A few people have now asked me via email, what the serious event I mentioned last week was. Sadly a colleague of ours died last week in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Apparently he fell off the top floor of one of the Computer Science buildings. This has been a difficult time for many people (including myself) and our thoughts are with Rumesh's family. His funeral is tommorow at his home town in Malaysia. Yesterday, at the departmental meeting, we all observed a minute's silence to his memory. Some people from the department volunteered and created a Memorial Web Site with pictures and other items in Rumesh's memory. God rest the soul of the little guy.
