05/31/2007: "Journal Publication"

I was delighted to receive an invitation today from the editor of the 'Concurrency and Computation' Journal to submit an extended version of my paper on 'middlware infrastructures for virtual organisations' for publciation in that journal.

I consider this a great personal achievement. GOLD was a lot of things; we showed how an application domain such that of chemical development could be revolutionised using the concepts of VO in order to enact its workflows. We demonstrated how the software would look, feel and operate and in addition we developed our platform using WS standards and specifications which -at that time- many people hardly knew of their existence. I always took pride in the project and the work of my collegaues and felt that we -as a team- were further ahead in terms of demonstratable ideas than other researchers in the area. Perhaps we should not have been as quite as we were at the end about our achivements.

The editor of the Journal informs me that the paper was considered as the Best Paper of the AHM2006 conference in which the GOLD platform was showcased....says it all really...
