New Technical Report

This Friday i submitted to other colleagues in my group a new technical report(PDF) outlining the usage and practical application of the XACML-RBAC profile specifications(PDF). We are in the process of integrating this to the new version of the GOLD demostrator that will be shown at the next AHM2006 meeting.

Earlier in the week I met Danny K. and Michael P. from Manchester University who prsented their work on a negotiation protocol for contract law. It was a quite interesting piece of work and got a lot of positive responses from the rest of the group. I am hoping to work with them again the near future although there is a good chance I will be meeting up with them at the next GGF meeting in Toyko in May.

The DEADLINE for proposals for my Web Services Book is today although there is sometime left before I draw the line. I have received quite a few proposals from a number of reputable people in the area of GRID and Distributed computing. I feel optimistic about the book, both in terms of research value and quality of content.

On more light hearted news, I have been toying with the idea of getting a new iMac 20" since I find out that it can run XP. I have been very impressed by all things I have been reading about it lately, so I am just about a click away from taking the plunge. I think I might just.

I am France from the middle of next week until the 2nd of April on personal bussiness. Due to my v.busy schedule this week I am behind with emails but I will try to catch up this weekend.

Good News Everyone

I was delighted today at the prospect of attending the next GGF meeting I have been keen on attending it for sometime now, but for some reason I always had to postpone it. Several friends and colleagues will also be attending so it is a good opportunity to catch up. I'm in the final stages of the imlpementation of the XACML RBAC API so I will have something to contribute. Technical Report along with API and GUI (assuming there is not objection for the top) will be published here soon.

On other news, I decided to read Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulations just to prove a point. I am currently trying to find a Greek translation, but failing that I have an English copy to start on. Last week I finished Marquez's latest book (although 18months old now) which i found intriguing although i can't say with outmost conviction that I fully understood it. It was good catching up with several friends over the weekend that I hadn't spoken too in a long time. The "Good News Everyone" is a reference to the news that appeared here and at Billy West's Forum. I guess if you didn't get the reference in the first place, then you would not be interested in the news. It would be great to see futurama back on TV.

Absence

I have been absent from blogging for 2 weeks now mainly due to work commitments. Im in the middle of finishing off the implementation of the RBAC model for GOLD. The book is progressing well thanks to the help of the publisher and their advice on dissemination and my friend Savas who published the call on his blog. I received quite a few hits through him as well. Since some of the work is now get to a more mature stage i will post about it in this blog shortly.
